Global warming has started long time ago, and it gains more and more momentum, until the day when things will get out of any control, and there will be a chain reaction which will dis balance the entire planet, the climate and the living conditions.

Scientists evaluated that an increase with only 2 Celsius degrees of the average temperature would lead to natural catastrophes, because the ice at the Poles would melt rapidly, increasing the planetary ocean’s level with 1-2 meters. This would be enough to kiss New York, London and a few other cities good bye. New York’s infrastructure is already under the ocean level. The New York subway is also under the ocean level, and workers are already fighting hard with floods and infiltrations.

Have you thought that if you consume less, then the quantity of those goods which are produced every day would decrease, thus diminishing the CO2 level, and slowing down the global warming process?

I’m not telling you now to get rid of your car and get a bicycle. I’m just thinking that we can all cut the waste in our homes. Why to we leave the household appliances plugged in when we don’t use them? Did you know that all those appliances which are in stand by can make you pay more for electricity? The amount you could save in one year si not that much, probalby around $100-$200, but it would contribute a lot to saving the planet.
