Banner ads are a common way of advertising on the internet. They are not as efficient as text ads, but they contribute more to enhancing your brand, because peo0ple would remember a good ad, even if they don’t click on it. In order to make them effective, banner ads have to comply with a few rules:
- Place them on sites related to your business. In this way, visitors will be more interested to click them. Don’t put ads for shoes on a site about cats, for example. Put them on shoes-related websites.
- Place them above the fold. The left-upper part of a page is the most clicked (there are studies which show this).
- Use text with your images. Design is very important, and you have to make sure that viewers understand from a glance what your ad is about.
- For saving some advertising budgets, you can consider banner exchange with sites which are on the same topic as yours. Everybody will benefit from this.
- Carefully choose your landing page. If you sell directly from internet, why not making people who click on your banner go directly to an order form? Too many clicks can chase them away, so make sure you help them buy your products.
