Banner ads are a common way of advertising on the internet. They are not as efficient as text ads, but they contribute more to enhancing your brand, because peo0ple would remember a good ad, even if they don’t click on it. Banner ads are in fact images, with or without animation, accompanied by text, displayed on other websites.
In order to make them effective, banner ads have to comply with a few rules:
- Place them on sites related to your business. In this way, visitors will be more interested to click them. Don’t put ads for shoes on a site about cats, for example. Put them on shoes-related websites.
- Place them above the fold. The left-upper part of a page is the most clicked (there are studies which show this).
- Use text with your images. Design is very important, and you have to make sure that viewers understand from a glance what your ad is about.
- For saving some advertising budgets, you can consider banner exchange with sites which are on the same topic as yours. Everybody will benefit from this.
- Carefully choose your landing page. If you sell directly from internet, why not making people who click on your banner go directly to an order form? Too many clicks can chase them away, so make sure you help them buy your products.

It is very nice to travel, but many people limit their travels due to budget restrictions.
However, if you are not very picky, you can travel really cheap in many places:
- Don’t book complete trips, try to find on the spot accomodation and book flights separately.
- Low cost air travel operators have special discounted places at most of the flights, but you have to hunt for them and to book them in advance, with no possibility to change your flight dates.
- If you go to visit cities, it is probable that you’ll spend your days outside the hotel room, so you can consider cheap hostels, which are clean and relatively OK (if you can accomodate yourself with a common bathroom).
- In many touristic cities you can buy a museums pass which will give you the right to enter all museums you can visit during its validity period.
- Eating on the street can be delicious and it is cheap, compared to a restaurant lunch.
- Some internet research before your trip can save you money, because you’ll already have your visit plan made, and you’ll know where are the best places to see, or the best restaurants to try, or the discounted shops.

It’s Christmas time again. You probably have a ton of cards and parcels to send, and you are overwhelmed with so many things to do (as usual) that you are afraid your cards and your gifts will never reach their recipients in due time.

Romance Novels are still preferred by lots of readers, especially by women, who seem to be day dreaming more than men.
For those of us who still find time to read, there are online bookshops which make it very easy to choose and order new books. Such a store is Books On Board, which offers a wide selection of bestsellers, thrillers, science fiction or romance novels, as well as business books. Besides, you’ll find it this bookstore a lot of ebooks and downloadable versions of audio books (with traffic becoming more and more an issue, I imagine audio books will record a significant market share growth over the next few years).

Some years ago, one of my friends went for studies in Costa Rica. The funny thing is that she finished the studies long ago, but she never returned. She decided to live there for the rest of her life. I was curious what’s so nice in Costa Rica, and she told me that living there makes her feel like she is in a perpetual vacation. There are so many interesting places to visit, so many leisure facilities, and a climate she really loves. The beaches are amongst the most beautiful in the world, and the nigh life is very dynamic, especially in San Jose, where DJs can keep you on the dance floor all night long.
My friend is thinking to organize a Costa Rica tour by bicycle. I think she’s a bit crazy, but she is convinced that it is going to be a spectacular trip. Her choice, I wouldn’t go for such an adventure.
However, life seems to be so good there, that I started to find out why 100 k Americans are buying Land in Costa Rica. This can be a wise investment, if not the beginning of a new life challenge.

I don’t know about you, but I get bored from time to time with my old jewelry. As money is never enough, I think a lot before deciding to spend it on rings, necklaces or bracelets. But I do have the desire, so I discovered a way to get rid of the things I don’t like anymore, and turn them into cash: trading them in the jewelry shops. Most of the times, this method worked great, the shop owners were willing to take my old rings, but the condition was to buy some other jewelry piece from their shop.
As long as you want to renew your stock, this is great. What if you just need the money? Then you have a problem. I had this problem, too, and I managed to solve it and get dollars for my old stuff.

I’ve always thought pearls were fascinating. As a child, I used to stare for long hours at my mother’s pearl necklace, I imagined all those shells and oysters which nourished, protected and grew those round, glowing, little pearls, and all those fishermen who brought them out of the sea. Briefly, I imagined the journey of a pearl from the bottom of the sea to my mother’s neck. It was the best story I was telling to myself.

Contemporary Bedroom Furniture: Planning a Bed
Don’t let your bed be an afterthought. Your bed will be the most prominent object in your room, so it has to go with your bedroom’s theme, color-wise, size-wise, and style-wise. A huge bed in a small room will likely look out of place, as would a four-post bed in a room with sleek modern furnishings.
Bed Sizes
The most popular bed sizes are king, queen, twin and the increasingly popular California king. A California king is narrow and long, rather than the traditional king bed’s square shape. Just make sure you have the exact dimensions of your bed before you go mattress shopping, since bed manufacturers sometimes don’t follow the standard bed sizes exactly.
Bed Styles
Don’t confuse bed sizes with bed styles. Bed styles refer to the headboard and footboard. The basis of any bed is still the mattress and frame, which only vary outwardly in terms of the sizes listed above.
- Daybed. Daybeds are twin beds. What makes them special is that they can double as couches if you position them against a wall. Being compact and versatile, daybeds are great for small spaces.
Tip! A certain kind of format that is starting to get very popular is contemporary furniture. While a bit of contemporary furniture looks like it belongs with the jetsons, filled with odd and strange, pod like seats and curvy lines, not all contemporary furniture is space like.
- Platform. Platform beds are elegantly simple, fitting in with just about any style of decor.
- Sleigh bed. Sleigh beds have curved headboards and foot boards that look like, well…a sleigh. There are simpler and more modern sleigh bed designs, so you can get one even if you are going for a more modern-looking room.
Tip! Always choose contemporary furniture that is simple in design, construction and materials.
- Four post bed. You know this bed already: it’s the one with a post sticking up out of each corner. The posts can support a canopy, but the canopy is optional.
- Pencil post bed. Pencil post beds are like four-post beds, only the posts are tall and tapered like…well, pencils. Harking back to their heyday in the 1700s, pencil-post beds fit a room with colonial furnishings especially well.
