Even children today have a mobile phone. My grandmother has one, and she manages to use it pretty well. But how do we choose our mobiles? Aren’t we maybe spending too much on functions we never use?
I can tell you my grandma never used the email function of her mobile. That’s because she doesn’t even have an email address. Or the bluetooth! She has no idea what that is. All she wants is to have all her friends’ numbers in the agenda, to be able to dial them pretty quick, and she also wants the phone to have big keys, because her sight is not fabulous at almost 90 years of age.
Let’s take myself: I pretend I want to use my mobile’s email function, but I postponed getting a subscription since almost three years ago (since the day I bought the phone, actually). I could have got another model, at half price, good looking, and with everything I actually use. Why did I pay the extra money? Just to make sure that if one day I will be able to use those extra functions.
Yesterday I got a new mobile phone, and believe me, it has only the basics. It was almost free, and it has a very nice design, so I suppose I’ll be satisfied with it. Why pay more? Have your say, please!

Congratulations! you just got yourself a new iPod. It looks gorgeous when it is new, but what will happen when you’ll put it in your pocket, together with your keys? Maybe you should consider getting also an ipod case to protect your beauty.
What if you just hate those mobile phone and mp3 player cases which make the device slook much bigger and which make them very hard to use? Well, you could consider getting an invisibleSHIELD, which is not just another case, or just another screen shield protector. It was initially created by the military, with the purpose of protecting the leading edges of helicopter blades, so you can imagine how protected your gadget will be. Besides, it is almost invisible, so you’ll even forget it is there, and your friends won’t even notice it (of course, if you won’t tell them yourself).
The best part is that if you are not satisfied with your invisibleSHIELD, you can ask your money back during the first 30 days. Besides, if it gets scratched, the producer will replace it for free, for life. I think it’s interesting. However, I’ll have to get myself an iPod first.

Children like to be in the center of attention. With their family, most of the times they really are, but when they go to kindergarden they get lost in the crowd, as they are like any other children, so they have to do something special to get themselves noticed. As they like to play roles, imagine how impressed they could be if they were the main character of a cartoon movie.
You can offer them this surprize: all you need to do is send a photo of your child to be featured in a Photo-Personalized Cartoon DVD, side by side to famous and cherrished characters like Santa Claus or the dancing penguins.
If you order it before December 10th, the producers guarantee you’ll have it before Christmas, so there is still a bit of time left for you to consider this. The DVD has a discounted price of $29.99.
The offer is available for US residents only. I don’t know about you, but I would have been very amused as a child if I received such a gift.

Some time ago, there was a kind of fashion: people rushed in to buy Diesel engine cars, because they seemed to be cheaper to run on the long term. Such cars were more expensive than gasoline cars, but they had two advantages:
- A lower fuel consumption
- Cheaper fuel
While the first point on the list is stil valid, the second one has been blown away, now prices for Diesel and gasoline being equal.
Under these circumstances, the difference of price you pay when you get a Diesel car is paid off after more than 10 years of service, which is a very long time. I don’t intend to keep my car for so long, so in my case, it will never pay off.
In this conditions, I expect a shift in the car market trend over the next few years: people won’t be so keen on paying extra money to get Diesel engines. Besides, the new current of hybrid cars seems very attractive, as we all know how polluted our cities are.
Hybrid cars still have a high price because of the novelty, but I expect them to become affordable within 2-3 years.

I remember last summer, when we’ve spent our holiday in a small Greek resort: evenings were delightful, walking by the sea was a real pleasure, and most of all we enjoyed sitting on a terrace, eating and drinking all kinds of Greek specialties. Very fast, we became addicted to one of the terraces, and the reason was very simple: they had a telescope for their guests’ use. I never imagined until then that gazing at the night sky can be so much fun. Too bad that we could not take some photos of the moon with our CCD digital cameras, so I cannot show you what attracted us, but if you ever have the chance to look through a telescope, don’t miss it.
Nevertheless, since then, I started to search the net for optical devices like telescopes and binoculars, and I even bought a pair of Bushnell binoculars.
One of the sites which offer well known brands, such as Bushnell, Meade or Celestron is Anacortes Telescope & Wild Bird. Not only they offer a wide range of binoculars, telescopes and digital cameras, but they also have a collection of related books, plus a cool gallery of astronomy and birds photos, and even a classifieds section, for those of you who might want to sell their old equipment.
